Jett Landry: Urban Legend: Volume 2 in the Jett Landry Saga by Stephan Oak
Thrilling… and impossible to put down.
Oak pumps new life into familiar action thriller trope in his second Jett Landry Saga, featuring the troubled vigilante Jett Landry. It’s been four years since Jett lost her parents, the pair of the infamous private detectives Marcus Jackson and his partner Ashley Garcia, to a shootout. Still reeling from tragedy, Jett leads a lonely existence in downtown Port City. When a lone vigilante begins to wreak havoc on human traffickers in the county north of Port City, Mike Krayton Sr., the Regional Director for the Port City Region and right-hand man of the charismatic “Governor” of the new Texas Republic, is convinced it is Jett, but taking the lone warrior down is not as easy as it seems. Oak expertly builds tension, balancing Jett’s inner turmoil with her quest to clean the Port City of human traffickers. Oak’s steady escalation of the risks and personal tragedies that Jett faces, and her courage in the face of relentless harrowing circumstances along with her ability to outthink and outgun the scores of dangerous criminals on her trail, make her a memorable heroine. The secondary characters, including Diana, Melinda, Mike among others are equally convincing. Blood-soaked battles add to the thrill, and the concrete plotting and precise prose keep readers flipping pages. The novel’s tone is dark and melancholy which suits Jett’s tragic circumstances. Loaded on action as well as emotions, this swiftly-paced action thriller argues that even the most vicious battles with criminals are less harrowing than the struggles within the psyche. This is a winner.

The Jett Landry Saga is, at it’s heart, the story of a young woman who goes from being oppressed to empowering herself in a very dangerous world. The Fuse takes place in fictional Port City, Texas. Jett, a teenager, is the only kid in her school that isn’t wealthy and white. A small group of kids bully her and make her living at school very difficult. One other kid, Melinda, reaches out to her and their friendship changes the direction of both of their lives. They begin to discover there is something evil lurking in Port City that directly affects Jett. Jett’s dad, private investigator Marcus Jackson, knows more about what’s going in Port City but is determined to protect Jett, who is biracial and the target of racism and bullying, from the reality of what’s happening as he tries to expose the corruption that protects a human trafficking operation.
Urban Legend takes place four years later the events of The Fuse. Melinda is off to law school while Jett remains in Port City, trying to come to terms with a tragedy and make sense of her life. But a mysterious hero, a woman on a motorcycle, is rescuing victims of a human trafficking ring in the rural counties north of Port City. No one knows who she is, but rumors abound. They say she seems to know their secrets she brings fury and vengeance to anyone who tries to stop her.
The Jett Landry Saga is about friendship, loyalty and the heroes of a new generation. It’s about the fight between good and evil and everything in between.

Jett Landry: Urban Legend. Volume Two in the Jett Landry Saga. By Stephan Oak. Cover art by Micky Mitchell.
It’s been four years since The Fuse was lit.
Everything has changed.
Melinda is a first-year law student at Baylor. Jett Landry, still reeling from tragedy, leads a lonely existence in downtown Port City. Mike Krayton Sr. is the Regional Director for the Port City Region and right-hand man of the charismatic “Governor” of the new Texas Republic. Mike Krayton Jr. works for his father, managing the controversial Workfare program. Human Trafficking is out of control. Danger is everywhere and the new government ignores the problem.
But something strange is happening in the county north of Port City: A mysterious woman on a motorcycle is rescuing victims of a human trafficking ring. They say she comes out of nowhere and brings fury and vengeance to all those who try to stop her. No one knows who she is. Rumors circulate all over Port City about the woman’s identity. Some say she’s a survivor of human trafficking, out for revenge. Others believe she belongs to a reclusive cult that lives deep in the woods. There is another rumor about this mysterious hero; a rumor that involves the girl from Port City High who won all those karate tournaments years ago. The Co-Valedictorian. The daughter of the infamous private detectives, Markus Jackson and Ashley Garcia.
Urban Legend is the story of courage, friendship and sacrifice. It’s the story of corruption and evil. It’s the story of a new generation of heroes and the villains determined to take them down.
Urban Legend is coming soon. Artist Micky Mitchell is working on the cover art. Above I’ve attached a cropped version of the cover. I don’t want to give it all away too soon.
The cover will feature two important characters in Urban Legend. Jett Landry (right) and Melinda Brown (left). Jett and Melinda are best friends. In Urban Legend their friendship continues amidst an adventure the likes of which neither Jett nor Melinda could have anticipated. This image portrays the characteristics Melinda and Jett bring to the story. Micky is doing an amazing job of bringing these characters to life and giving you a glimpse of what you can expect without giving the story away.
Jett Landry: Urban Legend is coming soon to Amazon. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
